Nova Easygro (also known as Nova Easy-Grow, Nova Easy Gro) developed in 1971 at Nova Scotia, Canada by Canadian Department of Agriculture. It is a cross between Spartan and ‘PRI 565’. Fruit is large with 80% red stripe over greenish yellow background color. Flesh is crisp, firm, slightly juicy and improve quality with storage. It has similarity to Cortland. Tree is moderately productive and vigorous. Blooms one day after the McIntosh. It has good resistance to Cedar Apple Rust (CAR) and Apple Scab (AS), moderate resistance to Powdery Mildew (PM) and Fire Blight (FB). It is hardy to -50 degrees F and grows zone 2. The fruit ripens in early October.
