Originally introduced in 1803, Herefordshire Redstreak apple tree is an heirloom English hard cider variety that has been grown since the 18th century. In fact, it produces a small to medium–sized oblong fruit with red and yellow streaks, and a firm, semi–sweet yellow flesh that stores well due to its dryness. Baring fruit on spurs, it ripens in mid–September and can remain on the tree afterwards. Additionally it is a cold–hardy variety suitable for zone 5, and in some cases, zone 4.

How to Prune a Herefordshire Redstreak Apple Tree?

• First, prune the Herefordshire Redstreak apple tree in late winter or early spring, before it begins to flower.
• Cut off any dead, diseased, or damaged branches.
• Remove any crossing branches.
